CROMWELL & HOLMES
Helping committed funders choose the right projects, structure their engagement and monitor the real impact of their funding.
Cromwell & Holmes was born from field experience : many impact projects rest on visionary, committed, sometimes remarkable founders. But a strong vision does not always guarantee a solid organisation, a controlled budget, clear governance or the capacity to report back.
Our role is to bridge ambition and execution. We help funders understand what is genuinely structured, what needs to be reinforced and what can be monitored over time.
One structuring, the other analytical. Together, they define the way we work.
Governance. Reform. Decision.
Oliver Cromwell is a major political figure of 17th-century England. His name evokes reform, institutional order, the transformation of power and the ability to impose direction in a time of profound instability.
For us, Cromwell represents the firm's structuring dimension : governance, framework, decision, organisation and the ability to turn an intention into an operational architecture.
Investigation. Method. Weak signals.
Sherlock Holmes is one of the great figures of investigation and methodical reasoning. He embodies observation, rigour, the art of asking the right questions and the ability to bring out the truth from inconsistencies.
For us, Holmes represents due diligence : looking behind the words, understanding weak signals, identifying blind spots and distinguishing intuition from evidence.
Together, Cromwell & Holmes expresses our positioning : analyse with rigour, structure with method, decide with clarity.
Founder — entrepreneur, lecturer, specialist in impact partnerships
Cromwell & Holmes is founded by Jean Cyril Giraux. His career spans entrepreneurship, organisational structuring, nonprofit support, strategy, fundraising, educational innovation and the development of impact programmes.
For nearly twenty years, he has supported entrepreneurs, nonprofits, schools, institutions and private partners in turning a vision into a structured, fundable and operational project.
We make projects legible for those who must decide.
We analyse the key elements : governance, budget, strategy, execution, risks, reporting.
We do not sell a story. We inform a decision.
We focus on what can be executed, measured and monitored over time.
We work with discretion alongside funders, families, foundations and project leaders.
Depending on the needs of each mission, Cromwell & Holmes can mobilise a network of high-level legal, accounting, tax and financial partners : lawyers, chartered accountants, statutory auditors and specialised advisors.
This approach makes it possible to articulate the strategic, operational, legal and financial reading of a project or a philanthropic vehicle.
Cromwell & Holmes acts as a strategic and operating conductor. The firm does not replace legal or accounting experts : it coordinates the necessary expertise at the right level.
